Event: Champagne Reception following “The Genius of George & Ira Gershwin” for Bob Lappin & The Palm Beach Pops

What: The fifth concert series of Bob Lappin & The Palm Beach Pops’ 20th Anniversary season “The Genius of George & Ira Gershwin” featured a star-studded line up of guest artists who joined the orchestra to pay tribute to the brilliance of the brothers Gershwin. Back by popular demand, Tony Award Winning vocalist Lillias White returned to delight South Florida audiences with her signature style, accompanied by legendary jazz guitarist Bucky Pizzarelli and world-famous clarinetist Ken Peplowski. The six-night, county-wide engagement opened at The Kravis Center for The Performing Arts on February 29, 2012.

Concert sponsor Adele Siegel and patrons of The Palm Beach Pops were honored at a champagne reception sponsored by Sumner Hushing following the opening night performance at the Kravis Center. Guests enjoyed cocktails and hors d’oeuvres along with presentations by Palm Beach Pops Executive Director David Quilleon, Maestro Bob Lappin, Lillias White, Bucky Pizzarelli and Ken Peplowski.

Who: Special guests included Tony Award Winner and Broadway superstar Lillias White, legendary jazz guitarist Bucky Pizzarelli and world-renowned clarinetist Ken Peplowski. In attendance were Maestro Bob Lappin and Gloria Briggs, concert sponsor Adele Siegel, reception sponsor Sumner Hushing, David Quilleon, Ruth Pizzarelli, Ari Rifkin, Dr. Sol and Suzee Colsky, Donald Ephraim, Maxine Marks, Palm Beach Pops Bassist Rances Colon, Palm Beach Pops Drummer Frank Derrick, Bernie & Sonny Levinson, Jon Lappin and many others.
